Gemotions

The morning sun warmed Elias's face as he waited for the elevator. His shoulders were loose, his hands clasped casually behind his back. A faint smile played on his lips. He was humming a little tune, something he couldn't quite place. The doors slid open, and he stepped inside, pressing the button for the tenth floor with a confident tap. He was ready for the day.

Inside the break room, Sarah was already there. She was fiddling with the coffee machine, a focused look on her face. "Morning, Elias," she said, her voice light.

"Morning, Sarah," Elias replied, glancing at her. "Rough start?"

"Just the usual coffee machine drama," Sarah sighed, then grinned. "Remember the time at Camp Clearwater when we tried to build a coffee maker out of pinecones?"

Elias blinked, his jaw dropping slightly. "Sarah? Sarah from... Clearwater? Cabin B?" A wave of recognition washed over him, and a memory of a mosquito-filled summer camp came flooding back.
